Rap battle generator example: two friends, one mic

Two AI-generated contenders, made with MigosAI from a pair of selfies shot on different days: HD, 10 seconds, 9:16, lead on the left.

No matchup was typed for this one, so the AI used its default theme of two friends hyping each other up. Watch the roles, though, because they are what a battle runs on: the friend on the left raps with lip sync, and the friend on the right responds with nods, ad-libs and gestures.

An AI rap battle, packed into one short clip

A live battle runs for rounds, with each rapper firing replies on the spot. This is the short, shareable version. You choose two contenders and a matchup, like cat people against dog people or night owl against early bird, and the AI writes a fresh verse about it. One contender takes the mic while the other stands across from them, reacting to every line.

Each video is a single exchange rather than turn-by-turn rounds: the lead raps, and the second performer answers with ad-libs, smirks and gestures. Want a comeback? Make round two as a separate clip with the other contender in the lead, then post the pair in order. The cards below use AI-generated people.

    Roommates split from one photo

Inputs: one party photo with a frame over each roommate. Settings: HD, 8 seconds, 9:16, lead on the right, no lyrics topic.

  • AI-generated portrait of the father, placed in the leadAI-generated portrait of the daughter

    Dad versus daughter

Inputs: two portraits. Settings: HD, 10 seconds, 9:16, lyrics topic "road trips with dad".

How to set up an AI rap battle in three steps

Two clear faces and a browser are all it takes. Sign in with Google and pick your contenders.

  1. Choose the contenders

Upload one front-facing photo of each person, or switch to a group photo and drag a frame over both faces. Whoever fills the lead slot gets the mic.

  2. Name the matchup

Write the rivalry as a lyrics topic under 80 characters, for example "pineapple on pizza, yes or no". Then set quality, length and format.

  3. Preview and render round one

A free booth photo shows the face-off before you spend anything. Generate the video, then download the MP4.

What decides the battle

The faces are the only thing you must add. These settings shape who owns the moment.

  • Who holds the mic

The lead performer raps the verse with the tightest lip sync; the opponent reacts with ad-libs, nods and gestures. Set the lead on the left or the right side of the stage.

  • The matchup and the attitude

The lyrics topic, under 80 characters, tells the AI what the battle is about. A short note for each person, up to 120 characters, sets their body language, like "arms crossed, unimpressed".

  • Resolution, length, shape

Standard renders up to 720p and costs 1 credit per second; HD renders up to 1080p and costs 2 credits per second. Lengths are 5, 8 or 10 seconds, and 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 are priced the same.

  • The arena

Battle in the orange studio under the hanging mic, or use the background of the lead's photo for a home-turf advantage.

Four ways to run an AI rap battle

  • Settle a household debate

Who loads the dishwasher wrong, whose turn it is to cook. Put it in a verse and let the family chat decide.

  • Best of two with friends

Make one clip with each contender in the lead, post them back to back, and let the group vote with reactions.

  • Team and gaming rivalries

Your team against theirs, the friend who always picks the same character. Keep the lines about the rivalry, not the person.

  • An icebreaker for a club or team

Two volunteers, a light topic like "summer versus winter", and a clip on the big screen. Clean lyrics keep it fine for a mixed room.

Is the rap battle generator free? Cost per round

Booth previews are free, 3 per account, and failed ones are not counted. Each finished round is paid in credits that depend on quality and length: 5 credits for a 5-second Standard clip, 10 credits for 5 seconds in HD, and 20 credits for 10 seconds in HD. A rematch is a second clip at the same rates. The Duo Pack costs $9.90 for 40 credits that never expire, and the credits for a failed render are refunded automatically. Our merchant of record at checkout, Waffo Pancake or Creem, resells the service and handles tax and invoicing. See all credit packs and plans

Rap battle generator FAQ

Information checked October 3, 2026.

Do the two people take turns rapping?

Not inside one video. The lead raps the verse and the opponent answers with ad-libs, nods and gestures. For real turns, render a second clip with the other person in the lead and post the two in order.

Who writes the bars?

The AI writes them from your matchup topic. Every verse is new, two or three lines for a 5 to 10 second clip, and the AI is told to keep it free of profanity and slurs. Pasting in finished lyrics is not an option.

Can I battle a celebrity or a famous rapper?

No. Battles are for people who agreed to be in them. Topics that name or target real public figures are rejected, hate and harassment are not allowed, and you need permission to use both photos.

Can I use my own beat or recording?

No. Each video gets a newly generated track built around the AI verse. Adding a beat or a recorded take is not available.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Every account gets 3 free booth photos that show both contenders on stage. Videos start at 5 credits, and the price appears before you render.

How long does a round take to make?

Usually about 5–10 minutes. If a render fails, its credits go back to your balance automatically, and finished clips stay in My Videos for 30 days.
